U.S. Xpress is hiring Class A CDL Company Drivers for over-the-road (OTR) dry van operations based in Mitchell, Lawrence County. This is a full-time position offering competitive mileage rates, guaranteed weekly pay, and sign-on bonuses.

About the Role

As an OTR Class A CDL Company Driver at U.S. Xpress, you'll operate a dry van truck transporting freight across the United States on dedicated routes. You'll travel approximately 2,000 miles per week while maintaining strict compliance with DOT regulations and safety protocols. Most drivers follow a 12 days out / 2 days home schedule, providing predictable time for personal commitments.

What You'll Do

• Operate a Class A commercial vehicle in over-the-road dry van service
• Complete routes averaging 2,000 miles weekly throughout the continental U.S.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and document maintenance needs
• Maintain accurate electronic logbooks and deliver freight on schedule
• Comply with federal and state transportation regulations, including Hours of Service requirements
• Coordinate with dispatch and shippers to ensure reliable freight delivery

What We're Looking For

• Current Class A Commercial Driver License with air brake endorsement
• 1 to 5 months of verifiable commercial driving experience
• Passing DOT medical certification and clean driving record
• Strong safety awareness and professional work ethic
• Ability to manage long-haul operations independently

Compensation & Benefits

U.S. Xpress pays 57 to 64 cents per mile based on your experience level, with a guaranteed weekly minimum of $1,500. High-performing drivers in our fleet earn up to $1,700 per week. All new company drivers receive a $4,000 sign-on bonus.

Team driving is also available with a $5,000 sign-on bonus, 72 to 80 cents per mile split pay, and average weekly mileage around 5,000 miles. If you don't have a current team partner, U.S. Xpress can help you connect with a compatible driver.
