About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential GovTech organization that is transforming how government agencies deliver services to their communities. Our talent team is seeking a Business Development Representative to join their growing Go-to-Market organization in Canada.
This is a high-impact role where you'll be the first point of contact for government agencies across North America. You'll work closely with demand generation and sales teams to qualify inbound leads and build outbound pipelines targeting local government decision-makers. This position offers clear growth pathways into full-cycle sales, customer success, and other commercial roles.
Responsibilities
- Build and execute high-volume, multi-channel outbound sequences including cold calls, personalized emails, and LinkedIn outreach with a test-and-iterate approach
- Use AI-powered tools to research prospects at scale, surface buying signals, and craft outreach that connects agency pain points to solutions
- Multi-thread into buying committees by identifying decision-makers, influencers, and champions within each government agency
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop target lists, call strategies, and messaging frameworks
- Partner with assigned sales executives to ensure smooth handoff of qualified leads
- Maintain accurate pipeline data in Salesforce by logging activities and maintaining contact records
- Provide market intelligence by sharing prospect feedback, objections, and competitive insights to refine GTM strategies
- Continuously evolve the lead qualification process based on performance data
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 1-3+ years of relevant B2B sales or GovTech experience
- Extremely comfortable with cold-calling prospects
- Experience explaining technical or complex solutions to key stakeholders
- Coachable, self-aware, and open to feedback
- Curious mindset with ability to ask probing questions about prospect challenges
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly and retain large amounts of information
- Experience using Salesforce and Dialpad
- Strong written communication skills
- Experience using AI sales tools for prospecting research and outreach personalization
- Data-driven outbound mindset—you track your metrics, understand what they mean, and self-correct
Preferred:
- Experience in community development (permitting, planning, licensing, code enforcement)
- Successful track record in quota attainment
- Experience in consultative selling
- Interest in government technology, local governments, public policy, or community/land development
How We Work With You
Our process is straightforward and supportive. Candidates apply directly through Get A Job.ai, where our recruiting team will review your background and conduct an initial screening. If there's a strong match, we'll submit your profile to our client for consideration. We ask that you work exclusively through our team and not contact the client directly—this ensures a coordinated, professional process that gives you the best chance of success.
Once hired, you'll go through a comprehensive two-week onboarding bootcamp covering ideal customer profiles, proof points, sales tools, cold call practices, and qualification frameworks. You'll complete a mock qualification call with an industry panel advisor before being assigned to a territory and paired with a sales executive. Your first 90 days include onboarding targets, regular coaching sessions, and a structured plan for success.
Pay
The client offers a base salary between $60,000-$70,000 CAD based on skills, experience, and qualifications. This is a full-time position located in Canada with remote work options. The role may require occasional travel 1-2 times per year for company meetings.
Benefits include competitive compensation packages, paid time off, and health benefits for you and your family. Performance reviews, compensation reviews, and promotion pathway discussions occur throughout your first year.
Note: This role requires a comprehensive background check focused on sanctions and relevant criminal offences in accordance with privacy and human rights legislation.
