Backend Engineer – Python

Responsibilities

• Build and scale high-performance, low-latency backend systems in Python
• Take complete ownership of projects from conception through production deployment
• Ship rapidly, iterate based on learnings, and maintain velocity
• Contribute to defining the technical culture and engineering practices
• Collaborate directly with founders to solve novel technical challenges
• Work hands-on across the stack as needed in a startup environment

Must-have skills and experience:

• Deep expertise in Python with a track record of building production systems
• Demonstrated ability to ship high-quality work quickly in ambiguous environments
• Previous accomplishments that prove you're an exceptional builder
• Resilience, competitiveness, and hunger to grow rapidly
• Comfort with autonomy and minimal structure
• Genuine interest in startup culture and early-stage intensity

Helpful experience:

• Public or private cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized environments
• Previous roles at fast-growing startups or early-stage companies
• Openness to AI-assisted development tools
• Ability to make pragmatic trade-offs and ship imperfect code when speed matters
