Position Summary

Continental is seeking an experienced Backend Developer to join our Digital Solutions team. In this remote role, you will design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems and services that support our digital platforms. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, you'll help drive Continental's ongoing digital transformation and technological innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs using modern programming frameworks and technologies
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that meets established development standards
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices
• Diagnose and resolve production issues and performance bottlenecks
• Contribute to system architecture discussions and help evaluate new technologies and tools for the team

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, Go, or Node.js
• Proven experience developing and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices
• Solid understanding of database design and experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerisation technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in agile environments
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
