The Opportunity

Continental is looking for a talented MES Specialist / Software Developer (MCAT) to strengthen our Information Technology team. In this remote, full-time role, you'll bridge manufacturing operations and software development, building solutions that optimize production processes and enhance system reliability. You'll have the opportunity to work on the MCAT platform and related MES technologies that directly impact production efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain MES software applications and customizations that support manufacturing workflows and production planning
• Gather requirements from production and operations teams, then translate them into technical solutions
• Design, code, test, and deploy software modules for the MCAT system and integrated manufacturing execution platforms
• Monitor system performance, diagnose issues, and implement timely bug fixes and performance enhancements
• Support integration of MES with manufacturing equipment, enterprise resource systems, and data analytics platforms
• Document system architecture, functionality, and technical procedures to enable team knowledge sharing and continuity
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects that streamline production workflows and reduce system downtime

Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing software in languages such as Java, C#, Python, or similar modern platforms
• Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems, production environments, and industrial processes
• Strong foundation in database design, SQL, and data modeling
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities in technical contexts
• Effective collaboration and communication skills across technical and operational teams
• Capability to document complex systems clearly and maintain technical specifications
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
