Azure Infrastructure Engineer (m/w/d) in Köln

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential financial services organization seeking an Azure Infrastructure Engineer to join their team in Köln. In this role, you will be responsible for building, operating, and continuously evolving a Microsoft cloud infrastructure. You will deliver a stable, secure, and highly available Azure platform while working closely with the IT team to develop the future cloud architecture.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Planning, operating, and optimizing the Azure platform
• Managing and advancing M365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint
• Implementing security policies, Identity Protection, Conditional Access, and Microsoft Defender
• Administering identities, roles, groups, and authentication procedures
• Developing PowerShell scripts and automating administrative processes
• Monitoring the Azure environment, analyzing performance metrics, and capacity planning
• Contributing to cloud projects and supporting IT leadership on architecture, infrastructure, and security topics
• Actively shaping the transition from an on-premises infrastructure to a modern, secure, and scalable Azure cloud environment

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Completed vocational training as a Fachinformatiker (System Integration) or comparable degree
• Several years of professional experience in Microsoft cloud environments
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, and SC-300 are valued)
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
• Strong knowledge of PowerShell and Terraform
• German language proficiency at B2 level or higher for smooth internal and external communication
• Independent and self-directed working style
• High service and solution orientation
• Team player mentality
• Structured and analytical thinking
• Strong quality awareness
• Willingness to learn and interest in emerging technologies
• Strong communication skills and sense of responsibility

This is a full-time position in Köln with a hybrid working model available after onboarding.
