Amazon's Legal Department is seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to join our AWS Legal team in Gurugram, India, supporting Amazon Web Services—the world's leading cloud computing platform.
What This Role Involves
As an Associate Corporate Counsel specializing in commercial transactions at AWS, you'll provide legal guidance on complex cloud services contracts, technology partnerships, and commercial arrangements. You'll help navigate the commercial and regulatory landscape across Amazon Web Services' global operations, supporting contracts that span compute, storage, databases, IoT, machine learning, and emerging technologies. This is an opportunity to apply deep legal expertise in one of the fastest-growing segments of enterprise technology while advising on transactions that impact millions of customers worldwide.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate commercial transaction agreements for AWS services and partnerships
- Advise internal stakeholders on legal risks, compliance implications, and commercial terms
- Support contract negotiations with enterprise clients, technology partners, and service providers
- Analyze regulatory requirements affecting AWS offerings in India and internationally
- Provide legal counsel on emerging issues in cloud computing, data services, and IT infrastructure
- Work collaboratively with business, product, and compliance teams to resolve legal issues efficiently
- Maintain detailed contract documentation and legal precedents
Requirements
- Law degree with admission to practice as a commercial or corporate lawyer in India or equivalent jurisdiction
- 3–6 years of experience in corporate law, commercial transactions, or technology law
- Proven expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, and management
- Strong understanding of cloud computing, SaaS, or technology services (desired)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple matters simultaneously
- Comfortable with ambiguity and rapidly evolving business environments
