About the Role
As an Associate in Account Risk Operations at Airwallex, you'll be at the intersection of risk management, customer success, and compliance. You'll work directly with cross-functional teams to monitor accounts, assess risk profiles, and implement controls that safeguard our platform while keeping friction low for legitimate businesses operating globally.
What You'll Do
- Conduct risk assessments on customer accounts using available data, analytics, and industry frameworks
- Monitor active accounts for suspicious activity, policy violations, and emerging risk patterns
- Support Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance procedures and investigations
- Review account activity and escalate findings to senior risk and compliance leadership
- Document risk decisions and maintain clear audit trails for regulatory review and internal governance
- Collaborate with product, legal, operations, and customer success teams to address systemic risks
- Contribute to the development and refinement of risk policies, procedures, and detection controls
What We're Looking For
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
- Comfort working with data and identifying patterns across multiple sources and systems
- Clear written and verbal communication for explaining risk decisions to technical and non-technical audiences
- Genuine interest in risk management, financial compliance, or financial crime prevention
- Ability to prioritize and execute in a fast-moving fintech environment
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks, payments regulation, or enterprise risk management is a plus
