Western Governors University is seeking a creative and detail-driven Video Writer & Producer to join our team on-site in Salt Lake County, Utah. In this full-time role, you'll craft and deliver compelling video content that advances WGU's mission to widen access to higher education through flexible, online, competency-based degree programs.
About the Role
As a Video Writer & Producer at Western Governors University, you'll own the storytelling process from concept to final cut. You'll translate ideas into engaging scripts and oversee production so that each video resonates with students, faculty, and the broader communities WGU serves. This position is based in Salt Lake County, Utah, and is not a remote role.
Key Responsibilities
- Write clear, persuasive scripts and treatments tailored to a range of audiences and platforms.
- Produce video projects end to end, coordinating planning, shooting, and post-production.
- Partner with creative, marketing, and academic stakeholders to align content with WGU's goals and brand voice.
- Manage timelines, resources, and deliverables to keep projects on track.
- Ensure every piece reflects WGU's commitment to expanding educational opportunity.
Qualifications
- Proven experience writing for video and producing finished content.
- Strong storytelling instincts paired with attention to detail and production quality.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and collaborate across teams.
- A genuine interest in WGU's purpose of broadening access to higher education.
- Comfort working on-site in the Salt Lake County, Utah area.
