Assistant Project Manager – Mission Critical

Alston Construction is hiring a full-time Assistant Project Manager – Mission Critical to join our team in Vinnings, Cobb County, supporting the delivery of complex data center and mission critical building projects from preconstruction through closeout.

As an Assistant Project Manager focused on mission critical construction, you will work alongside senior project leadership to keep schedules, budgets, and stakeholder communication on track. This on-site role in Vinnings, Cobb County offers a hands-on path to grow your construction management career while contributing to high-stakes builds where precision and reliability are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Support project managers in coordinating day-to-day activities across mission critical construction projects.
• Assist with scheduling, cost tracking, and progress reporting to keep work aligned with project goals.
• Help administer contracts, submittals, requests for information, and change documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and field crews to maintain quality and timelines.
• Promote a strong builder–client relationship by supporting clear, consistent communication.
• Contribute to a safe, organized, and compliant job site throughout each phase of construction.

Qualifications

• Background or education in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
• Interest in or exposure to mission critical, data center, or technically complex construction projects.
• Strong organizational, scheduling, and communication abilities.
• Comfort collaborating with project teams, trades, and clients in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work on-site in Vinnings, Cobb County (this is not a remote position).
