APJ Accounting Manager

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential intelligence and security organization in their search for an APJ Accounting Manager based in Australia. This role offers leadership responsibility across the Asia-Pacific region, managing accounting operations for multiple entities while ensuring compliance with SOX and group requirements.

Reporting to senior international accounting leadership, you'll own the day-to-day delivery of regional accounting operations across Australia, India, Japan, and Singapore, with potential for expansion to additional markets.

Responsibilities

• Own timely and accurate delivery of APJ month-end close processes, ensuring all reconciliations, journals, and schedules meet established deadlines
• Act as primary point of contact for senior management and external service providers, managing outsourced provider performance against SLAs and KPIs
• Oversee preparation and submission of statutory financial statements, coordinate audits, and ensure compliance with local GAAP and regulatory requirements
• Manage and develop the APJ Accountant, ensuring clear prioritisation, accountability, and delivery standards
• Consolidate APJ intercompany positions and cash requirements, providing forward-looking visibility and preparing recommendations on settlements and funding
• Review indirect tax returns and supporting workbooks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission via external partners
• Ensure adherence to SOX controls and documentation standards while driving process improvements and system adoption

What We're Looking For

• Qualified accountant (CA/CPA/ACCA) with significant experience in multi-entity, multi-country accounting environments
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management experience with demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively
• Experience managing outsourced accounting providers and holding them accountable to service standards
• Strong understanding of SOX control environments and compliance requirements
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with ability to navigate complex regional requirements
• Experience coordinating statutory reporting and audit processes across multiple jurisdictions
