We are representing a confidential aviation maintenance organization seeking a skilled Aircraft Painter to join their team in Toulouse. Our client works with various aircraft types, and you'll play a crucial role in protecting these assets from environmental elements while maintaining their professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting through cleaning, masking, and sanding to remove old paint and contaminants
• Apply primers, base coats, and topcoats according to industry standards and manufacturer specifications
• Operate spray painting equipment to ensure even and accurate application across aircraft surfaces
• Follow technical instructions and blueprints to create custom designs, logos, or lettering
• Inspect painted surfaces for quality, verifying proper thickness, gloss, and color uniformity
• Perform repair and touch-up paintwork to meet regulatory and aesthetic requirements
• Maintain and clean painting equipment and tools, ensuring proper working order
• Comply with safety regulations, use appropriate protective gear, and maintain a safe workspace
• Document all work performed, including materials used and procedures followed
• Collaborate with maintenance team members to ensure timely aircraft delivery
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding chemicals and hazardous materials
• Support the development of painting schedules and project timelines

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Aircraft Painter or in related painting roles (automotive or industrial)
• Familiarity with aircraft painting techniques, materials, and procedures
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Proficiency with spray guns, sanders, buffers, and other painting equipment
• Strong attention to detail with demonstrated ability to produce high-quality finishes
• Knowledge of safety protocols for handling hazardous chemicals and materials
• Physical stamina and dexterity to work in confined spaces or at heights
• Strong team collaboration skills with technicians and engineers
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with various aircraft types (commercial, military, private jets)
• Familiarity with corrosion prevention and metal treatment processes
• Knowledge of environmentally safe painting products and techniques
• Ability to apply complex custom designs, logos, or branding
• Certification in aircraft painting or relevant field
• Understanding of aviation regulatory standards (FAA or EASA guidelines) for painting and surface finishing
• Training in safe handling of hazardous materials (OSHA, WHMIS certification)
