Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential developer tools organization seeking an Entrepreneur in Residence/Product Lead for an innovative AI-focused project. In this role, you will work alongside the technical founder to own product strategy for an open-source declarative programming language designed for AI-spec-driven development.
Your core responsibilities include:
- Owning the product strategy by defining direction, validating key hypotheses, and prioritizing what to build first
- Running continuous discovery through conversations with developers and customers to understand real workflows, pain points, and opportunities
- Defining the initial scope by identifying the ideal customer profile, core use cases, and priorities for zero-to-one development
- Shaping go-to-market strategy, including positioning, messaging, and launch plans
- Tracking the ecosystem by staying close to competitors, adjacent tools, AI developments, and market trends
- Working closely with engineering to keep a small team focused, aligned, and moving quickly in a highly ambiguous environment
What We're Looking For
Our client needs someone who can operate at founder-level autonomy while bringing deep product expertise to an early-stage technical project. This is not a traditional product management role—you'll need to understand where specs, architecture, and code break down in real developer workflows.
Required qualifications:
- 8+ years of product management experience with end-to-end ownership of strategy, discovery, and delivery
- Startup experience in a small team environment with a proven track record of building and shipping zero-to-one products
- Experience with developer tools or AI products
- High autonomy, speed, and comfort making decisions with limited information
- Strong technical fluency and ability to work closely with engineers
Preferred qualifications:
- Founder, co-founder, or C-level experience
- Coding experience
- Experience with GTM, marketing, product launches, developer advocacy, or public speaking
