Senior Analytics Engineer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential cloud platform organization in their search for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join their Data Science and Engineering team. In this role, you will transform complex platform and business data into actionable insights that drive product and strategic decisions.

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Data modeling and architecture: Design and build scalable data models that transform raw data into useful metrics and data products, utilizing DBT and medallion architecture patterns.
• Metric design and ownership: Define and track key business metrics that measure product success and inform strategic decision-making.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements, share methodologies, and promote data best practices across the organization.
• Technical leadership: Lead data modeling initiatives, evaluate and select appropriate tooling, and develop project roadmaps.
• Scalable solutions: Build efficient data pipelines that handle datasets at all scales, including petabyte-level volumes, enabling data-driven decisions throughout the company.
• Strategic advisory: Guide partner teams by developing and communicating analytical metrics that illuminate product and business performance.
• Operational efficiency: Improve team processes and code quality by creating well-documented, reusable solutions.
• Modern stack evolution: Work with modern data tools including GCP BigQuery, AWS S3, Fivetran, Hightouch, and AI-assisted development tools, helping evolve the data architecture as needs grow.

Key projects may include building data models integrating Salesforce and financial systems, AI tooling implementation, and cloud cost modeling (FinOps).

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Strong production experience with SQL and DBT
• Proficiency in Python, Git, and CI/CD practices
• Solid experience building data models for large-scale datasets (up to petabyte scale) in cloud platforms like GCP or AWS
• Experience with data visualization and analytics tools such as Hex and Metabase
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate technical tradeoffs and select optimal solutions
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Comfort working in a remote, globally distributed team environment
• Strong time management and cross-team collaboration skills
• Curiosity and passion for exploring new tools and technologies

Bonus qualifications:

• Experience with FinOps principles or FOCUS data models
• Interest or experience building AI data agents and modern AI-assisted data workflows

Location and work authorization:

This is a fully remote position open to candidates in France or Germany. You must be legally authorized to work in one of these countries; visa sponsorship is not available.
