Air Compliance Manager

About the Role

As Air Compliance Manager at Michigan Sugar Company in Bay City, Bay County, you'll oversee all aspects of air emissions compliance and environmental protection. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll ensure our operations meet federal and state air quality standards while collaborating across plant functions to embed compliance into daily operations.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain comprehensive air quality compliance programs that align with EPA regulations and state environmental requirements
• Monitor facility emissions, conduct compliance audits, and maintain detailed records of air quality data
• Manage air permits, including preparation, submission, and renewal of applications with regulatory agencies
• Investigate potential compliance issues and air quality incidents, implementing corrective actions as needed
• Partner with plant operations and safety teams to integrate compliance practices into everyday workflows
• Prepare regulatory reports and documentation required by federal, state, and local environmental agencies
• Stay informed of changing environmental regulations and recommend operational adjustments to maintain compliance

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience in environmental compliance, air quality management, or related regulatory roles
• Solid understanding of EPA regulations, Clean Air Act requirements, and applicable state standards
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams
• Proven track record managing compliance documentation and regulatory reporting
• Detail-oriented mindset with ability to juggle multiple priorities
• Genuine commitment to workplace safety and environmental responsibility
• Environmental compliance certification or related credential preferred
