AI Senior Engineer (Vision)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI-focused technology organization in their search for an AI Senior Engineer (Vision) to join their growing team. This is a 100% remote position open to candidates based in LATAM.

Our client is building sophisticated systems at the intersection of computer vision and large language models. You will be responsible for creating the "eyes" and "brain" of their platform—extracting complex data from visual documents and orchestrating how that data is leveraged by AI models to generate meaningful insights.

Responsibilities

• Build Visual Data Pipelines: Develop systems that can "read" and interpret complex documents, understanding layout, charts, and visual context using Vision-Language Models (GPT-4V, Claude 3.5) and Layout Analysis techniques
• Orchestrate Intelligence Layers: Own the application logic layer using LangChain or LangGraph to build agents and chains that query data, reason about it, and generate accurate responses
• Handle Native PDF Processing: Work with the complexities of PDF processing (PyMuPDF, layout parsing) to preserve document structure before AI processing
• Engineer Prompts and Control Flows: Craft sophisticated prompts and control flows to ensure models interpret financial charts and layouts accurately without hallucination
• Optimize for Cost and Scale: Apply cost-optimization strategies including batch processing and intelligent model selection to ensure economic viability at scale

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Skills:

• LLM Orchestration: Deep experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or similar frameworks. Strong understanding of context window management, tool calling, and agentic workflows
• Multimodal AI Experience: Hands-on experience integrating state-of-the-art vision models (GPT-4V, Claude 3.5 Sonnet) and embedding models (CLIP)
• Document Intelligence: Familiarity with specialized models (e.g., Donut, Pix2Struct) and tools like Unstructured.io or Docling
• PDF Processing Mastery: Expert-level proficiency with tools like PyMuPDF or pdfplumber for native element extraction
• Python ML Stack: Strong proficiency in PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Language Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience fine-tuning vision or language models, specifically for domain-specific artifacts like financial charts or tGet A Job.ais
• Prior experience handling documents in the Real Estate or Finance sectors

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with availability during normal business hours. Compensation is paid in USD. The role includes:
