Responsibilities

• Architect and implement performance-critical modules for AI training and inference pipelines used by teams at Nvidia.
• Profile large-scale models, isolate bottlenecks in compute, memory, or communication, and introduce targeted optimizations.
• Develop reusable kernels, libraries, and automation scripts that accelerate repeated high-performance AI workloads.
• Partner with research and platform engineers to validate that gains remain stable under production load and across multiple configurations.
• Benchmark candidate solutions against industry baselines and document clear trade-offs in speed, accuracy, and resource use.
• Contribute design reviews and technical mentoring that raise collective expertise in high-performance artificial intelligence practices.

What We're Looking For

• Proven expertise with parallel programming models, low-level performance analysis, and modern AI frameworks.
• Strong fluency in C++ and Python together with experience applying optimization toolchains and profilers.
• Solid grasp of machine-learning algorithms and the hardware-level factors that govern their execution cost.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex system behavior and convert findings into measurable speed-ups.
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline plus relevant industry experience building AI systems.
• Clear communication skills that enable cross-team collaboration on High Performance AI Engineer challenges near 6 Locations.
