AI Engineer – Dealflow (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential private equity organization focused on the DACH software and technology mid-market sector. Our client is building a cutting-edge AI-driven dealflow engine to identify and engage compelling investment opportunities before traditional M&A processes begin. As their AI Engineer - Dealflow, you will own the development and evolution of the product that powers their proprietary origination funnel, working at the intersection of AI engineering and deal sourcing.

This is a high-ownership role based in Berlin, working directly with leadership and investment teams to build scalable infrastructure for market mapping, outbound campaigns, and investment pipeline generation.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the AI-powered product that continuously populates the origination funnel with mid-market software and technology companies across the DACH region
• Develop and systematically improve screening and prioritization logic to enhance target quality
• Implement automated data acquisition and enrichment workflows to append firmographic and ownership structure data to targets
• Design logic and workflows to detect intent signals and potential sales interest from target companies
• Create automated multichannel outreach sequences and refine underlying engagement processes
• Build dashboards and reports tracking funnel metrics, activities, and conversion rates to support sourcing and pipeline reviews
• Evaluate new prospecting and sourcing tools while developing messaging libraries and outreach sequences
• Iterate continuously on product features based on commercial outcomes and user feedback

What We're Looking For

• Proven track record building AI-based tools or products that have been deployed in production environments (not just prototypes or demos)
• Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience developing AI-powered products or tools
• Strong proficiency in Python with production deployment experience using Docker on Azure
• Practical experience working with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude) and understanding their reliable use cases and current limitations
• Experience working with CRM data and deep understanding of data quality and structure requirements; familiarity with Pipedrive is a plus
• Knowledge of agent systems and frameworks like LangGraph is advantageous
• Commercial mindset with ability to understand target relevance and measure success through business outcomes
• Degree in Business Informatics, Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or comparable STEM field
• Fluent in both German and English (professional working proficiency required)
