Acute Medicine Clinical Nurse – FT Nights

About the Role

You'll work in Unit 5200, a dedicated 17-bed acute care medicine unit at Barnes-Jewish Hospital's South Campus. This full-time night position features a 4:1 to 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio, allowing you to provide thoughtful, individualized care while collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams. This is a clinically engaging role for an experienced registered nurse ready to advance in acute medicine.

What You'll Do

• Assess and monitor acutely ill patients throughout your shift, coordinating comprehensive nursing care
• Communicate clinical findings with medical teams and implement evidence-based treatment plans
• Manage medications, IVs, catheters, and other clinical interventions per established protocols
• Respond thoughtfully to patient needs and provide education to patients and families
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain detailed patient documentation
• Mentor newer nurses and contribute to a supportive unit culture

What We're Looking For

• Current RN licensure in Missouri (BSN preferred)
• Clinical experience in acute care medicine or similar fast-paced hospital setting
• Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Comfort with night shift work and flexible scheduling
