Accountant II

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential IoT technology company in their search for an Accountant II based in Mexico. Our client is a publicly-traded organization experiencing significant growth, and they need talented accounting professionals to support their expanding global operations.

This is a remote position for candidates residing in Mexico. You'll join a high-performing accounting team that values innovation, process improvement, and professional development. This role offers genuine growth potential within a dynamic finance organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close activities and ensure timely completion of accounting cycles
• Prepare journal entries and maintain account reconciliations for assigned areas
• Manage highly visible accounting areas including inventory, deferred commissions, marketable securities, investments, and complex bank arrangements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procure-to-pay, treasury, payroll, sales compensation, and supply chain
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in the close process
• Maintain compliance with accounting policies and ensure accuracy in high-volume transaction environments
• Explore and adopt AI tools to improve day-to-day accounting responsibilities

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting
• 2+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Demonstrated English proficiency (written and verbal communication)
• Strong knowledge of operational accounting processes including accruals, account reconciliation, and month-end/year-end close
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Ability to work effectively with high transaction volumes in a fast-paced environment
• Strong collaboration and communication abilities

Preferred:

• CPA (or equivalent) certification or active interest in obtaining
• Experience with NetSuite ERP system
• Track record of working under strict deadlines while maintaining compliance
• Critical thinking skills with ability to implement scalable processes
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Fast learner with strong multi-tasking capabilities and a proactive attitude
