About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential engineering consultancy based in Braunschweig, Germany. Our client specializes in infrastructure planning and project management on an international scale. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accountant (Finanzbuchhaltung) to join their finance team in a permanent, full-time or part-time role starting Q3 2026.

This position offers the opportunity to work in an international environment supporting meaningful infrastructure projects while maintaining professional growth in financial accounting and project-based bookkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Support selected international projects on financial and accounting matters, collaborating closely with project teams and external partners
• Manage day-to-day financial accounting tasks at the Braunschweig office, with particular focus on accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Review and process incoming and outgoing invoices
• Assist with monthly and annual financial closings, reconcile accounts and open items
• Prepare monthly accruals, post provisions, and support cooperation with external auditors

What We're Looking For

• Completed vocational training as a tax specialist (Steuerfachangestellte/r), financial accountant (Finanzbuchhalter/in), certified accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter/in), or comparable qualification in accounting
• Strong foundational knowledge in financial accounting
• Professional experience in financial accounting; experience in an international environment is ideal
• Proficient use of MS Office, particularly Excel, as well as experience with standard accounting software
• Structured, reliable, and team-oriented work approach with enthusiasm for clear processes and strong collaboration
• Good German and English language skills, both written and spoken; additional language skills are advantageous
