E-Commerce Category Manager (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential e-commerce organization based in Bremen that specializes in security products. Our client is seeking an E-Commerce Category Manager to drive product portfolio development, identify new market opportunities, and build successful product categories.

This role offers direct collaboration with leadership and significant influence over assortment strategy, revenue growth, and the company's future direction. You'll work in a fast-moving environment with short decision cycles and genuine autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing product assortment regarding revenue, margin, conversion rates, customer feedback, and market potential
• Develop existing product categories and identify new ones based on market analysis, competitive intelligence, and customer insights
• Optimize products, product data, sales arguments, and customer value propositions to increase conversion and revenue
• Take ownership of the commercial performance of selected product categories including revenue, margin, and growth targets
• Collaborate closely with marketing, CRM, sales, and e-commerce teams to optimize existing categories and scale successful product concepts
• Test new ideas and develop winning strategies alongside the team

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of experience in e-commerce, category management, or a comparable role with responsibility for products, assortments, or product categories
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong instincts for market opportunities, customer needs, and profitable business models
• Analytical working style and ability to make data-driven decisions
• Structured, pragmatic, and independent approach with high execution speed
• Confident use of digital tools and e-commerce systems; experience with Shopify or comparable shop systems is advantageous
• Enthusiasm for testing new concepts, taking ownership, and actively driving initiatives forward
• German language proficiency required for this Bremen-based position
