Accountant

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential global HR technology client seeking an experienced Accountant to join their Finance team. In this role, you will:

• Post transactions in SAP and maintain accurate financial records
• Close and reconcile sub-ledgers including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, bank accounts, and intercompany transactions
• Record and reconcile payroll for various international jurisdictions
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support variance analysis preparation
• Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements including VAT returns, statutory financial documents, CIT returns, and other filings in accordance with local legislation and deadlines
• Conduct financial analysis and contribute to special projects as requested
• Provide support in statutory close and financial statement preparation

What We're Looking For

• Post-qualification accounting experience with a professional accounting designation
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Demonstrated experience using core finance systems (SAP or similar preferred)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and compliance requirements
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong financial analysis skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong time management abilities and proven track record meeting tight deadlines
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office suite
• Strong automation and AI capabilities with demonstrated AI fluency
• Remote work experience is a plus but not required

This is a fully remote position open to candidates based in Spain or Portugal. You will report to the Manager of Accounting and Controls and work within an async-first culture that prioritizes flexibility and work-life balance.
