Account Manager

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential life sciences organization in their search for an Account Manager based in Japan. Our client is a recognized leader in diagnostic testing, and this role will focus on driving adoption of their oncology portfolio across hospitals, university medical centers, and outpatient clinics throughout your assigned territory.

Reporting to senior sales leadership, you will collaborate closely with local distributor networks to achieve volume and revenue objectives. This is a remote position requiring up to 80% travel to meet with healthcare providers and distributor partners across your region.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute territory-specific business plans targeting oncology centers, university hospitals, general hospitals, and community clinics
• Partner with distributor management and field representatives to prioritize accounts and coordinate sales initiatives
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with surgeons, gastroenterologists, oncologists, pathologists, and laboratory directors
• Achieve or exceed assigned volume and revenue targets through effective collaboration with distributor teams
• Deliver product education and clinical presentations to physicians, healthcare committees, and laboratory decision-makers
• Serve as a trusted advisor to healthcare providers, aligning our client's testing solutions to their clinical and operational needs
• Provide ongoing education and follow-up support to ensure high customer satisfaction and test adoption
• Monitor competitive landscape, customer dynamics, and market trends within your territory
• Share market insights with leadership and distributor partners to refine go-to-market strategies
• Collaborate with marketing, operations, and medical affairs to strengthen distributor effectiveness
• Maintain accurate account records and pipeline management in Salesforce CRM
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, privacy standards, and corporate policies

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• Minimum 4 years in sales, strategic account management, or business development within healthcare
• Demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
• Experience working with or through distributor networks strongly preferred
• Background in oncology, diagnostics, or medical devices highly valued

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or related field required
• MBA is a plus

Skills and Competencies:

• Proven ability to drive revenue and volume growth in complex healthcare environments
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building capabilities
• Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with distributor partners and their field teams
• Proficiency with Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and digital engagement platforms
• Comfortable with frequent travel (up to 80%) and remote work structure
