About the Role

As a science educator for grades 6–8, you'll develop and deliver rigorous, age-appropriate science instruction that fosters deep understanding and student engagement. Working under the direction of your school's principal, you'll create a classroom culture where inquiry, collaboration, and discovery thrive. Your role is to build strong relationships with students, motivate their growth in scientific literacy, and support their development as thoughtful, capable learners.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement science lessons aligned with Arizona standards across life science, physical science, earth science, and scientific practices
• Facilitate hands-on investigations, experiments, and project-based learning that connect science to student interests and real-world applications
• Assess student understanding through formative and summative assessments, and adjust instruction to meet individual learning needs
• Build collaborative relationships with students and families to support academic growth and foster a positive school climate
• Integrate technology, data, and evidence-based teaching practices to enhance student learning outcomes
• Participate in grade-level and school-wide initiatives, professional development, and curriculum planning

What We're Looking For

• Valid Arizona teaching certification in Science or equivalent, or eligibility for certification under the current salary schedule
• Strong knowledge of middle-grade science content and inquiry-based instructional strategies
• Ability to establish effective rapport with students and motivate them to develop skills and positive attitudes toward learning
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to collaborating with colleagues and families
• Flexibility, creativity, and dedication to supporting each student's growth and success
