About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential aerospace and defense organization seeking a Software Engineer Intern for their Slidell, Louisiana facility. This is a Summer 2027 internship focused on crewed land systems development.
As an intern, you'll work on real engineering projects alongside experienced software professionals. This is a hands-on role where you'll contribute to active development efforts, gain exposure to production systems, and build skills that prepare you for a career in aerospace software engineering.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to software development projects supporting crewed land vehicle systems
- Write, test, and debug code under the guidance of senior engineers
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
- Document software components and development processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on integrated system solutions
- Support testing and validation activities for software releases
What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Expected graduation in 2026, 2027, or 2028
- Foundational knowledge of software development principles and practices
- Familiarity with at least one programming language (C++, C, Java, Python, or similar)
- Understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in team environments
- U.S. citizenship may be required due to facility access requirements
