Core Duties

• Conduct routine and specialised laboratory tests on soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt and related construction materials used in civil works
• Prepare test samples according to recognised protocols and ensure sample integrity from receipt through disposal
• Operate, clean and help calibrate laboratory apparatus so equipment remains accurate and ready for use
• Record raw data carefully, perform basic calculations and compile clear technical summaries or reports for internal stakeholders
• Follow established safety rules, quality procedures and relevant testing standards throughout every assignment
• Support quality-control checks and assist colleagues with troubleshooting of test methods when results require verification
• Maintain organised laboratory workspaces, consumable inventories and documentation systems that keep operations efficient

Who We're Looking For

• Diploma or equivalent credential in Civil Engineering Technology or a closely related technical programme
• Hands-on experience or demonstrated training in a materials testing laboratory setting preferred
• Working familiarity with common Canadian and international test methods applicable to civil materials
• Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy and the ability to manage multiple tasks under time constraints
• Competence with spreadsheet software and basic data-recording tools for laboratory results
