The Radiologic Technologist - Main Campus, LOSC & BHP position at Nationwidechildrens centers on capturing clear diagnostic images that assist clinical decision-making. Your Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for radiographic exams by explaining steps, ensuring comfort, and correctly positioning them for optimal views
- Operate standard radiologic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images according to physician orders
- Apply radiation protection principles, including proper shielding and exposure minimization techniques
- Evaluate image quality on-site and make necessary adjustments or retakes to meet standards
- Document procedures thoroughly and maintain accurate patient records in applicable systems
- Clean, stock, and perform basic upkeep on imaging rooms and equipment to support readiness
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and fellow technologists to coordinate exams efficiently
- Adhere to all facility protocols for infection control, safety, and patient privacy
Skills & Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology education program
- Current ARRT certification in radiography or eligibility to obtain it promptly
- Valid Ohio radiologic licensure or ability to secure state licensure
- Current BLS certification preferred for patient care readiness
- Solid working knowledge of radiographic anatomy, positioning, and technique selection
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients of varying ages and comfort levels
- Physical capability to maneuver equipment, assist patient movement, and remain standing for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail, organizational habits, and commitment to quality and safety standards
