Role Overview
This Multi-Modality Technologist (X-Ray/CT) role places you at the center of patient-centered imaging services, where you blend technical precision with compassionate care. You will operate both conventional radiography and computed tomography systems to generate clear, diagnostic-quality images for a diverse range of patients. Core Duties
- Prepare examination rooms, imaging equipment, and patient records before scheduled X-ray and CT procedures.
- Review requisitions, verify patient identity, and explain procedures in clear, reassuring language.
- Position patients accurately while applying immobilization or shields as needed to optimize image geometry and minimize exposure.
- Select appropriate technical factors and operate multi-slice CT scanners and digital radiographic systems to obtain high-quality studies.
- Monitor patients during examinations, respond promptly to observations, and adjust techniques for optimal diagnostic value.
- Evaluate images for completeness and clarity, repeating views only when clinically necessary and documenting any variances.
- Maintain objective, radiation-safety practices that protect patients, staff, and yourself throughout every shift.
- Perform routine equipment quality-control checks, clean and stock work areas, and escalate maintenance issues without delay.
- Enter exam data into the radiology information system, archive studies, and communicate findings to supervising radiologists or referring clinicians as required.
- Support workflow continuity by assisting colleagues during peak demand and participating in departmental process improvements.
Who We're Looking For
- Current ARRT certification in Radiography (R) with documented CT competency or eligibility to obtain CT credentials promptly.
- State licensure or eligibility for the jurisdictions associated with Multiple locations.
- Proven ability to perform both X-ray and CT examinations independently across varied patient populations and acuity levels.
- Solid working knowledge of human anatomy, imaging physics, contrast administration precautions, and radiation-protection principles.
- Comfortable operating major CT platforms and digital radiography consoles, including post-processing tools for multiplanar reconstructions.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills that foster trust with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Strong attention to detail, sound clinical judgment, and the physical stamina required for extended standing, patient transfers, and emergency response.
- Willingness to work varying shifts as scheduling needs dictate and to uphold institutional policies on infection control, privacy, and professional conduct.
