Senior Software Engineer – Datacenter Systems

Nvidia is hiring a Senior Software Engineer - Datacenter Systems for a full-time position based at one of our three locations. You'll contribute to mission-critical software infrastructure that powers the world's most advanced computing platforms.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to shape the software systems that enable Nvidia's global datacenter ecosystem. As a senior engineer, you'll design and optimize low-level systems software, collaborate with elite hardware and software teams, and influence the technical direction of products deployed worldwide. Your work directly impacts how billions of AI computations and data processing operations execute reliably and efficiently at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core datacenter systems software including kernel-level components, device drivers, and system libraries
• Optimize performance and reliability across diverse hardware configurations and production deployments
• Diagnose and resolve complex distributed systems issues, implementing robust solutions for global-scale environments
• Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware engineers, infrastructure teams, and product leadership to ensure seamless integration
• Contribute to technical standards, architecture reviews, and strategic planning for next-generation datacenter platforms
• Guide and mentor junior engineers, sharing deep technical expertise across the organization

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with substantial depth in systems-level programming
• Expert-level proficiency in C/C++ and assembly language; strong understanding of operating systems kernels, architecture, and hardware fundamentals
• Demonstrated success designing, building, and shipping production systems software at enterprise scale
• Strong analytical and debugging skills with experience diagnosing performance bottlenecks in complex distributed environments
• Excellent communication abilities and proven effectiveness collaborating across distributed, multi-disciplinary technical teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience demonstrating mastery of core concepts
