Banquet Captain (Part-Time)

Montage seeks an experienced Banquet Captain to lead event service operations at our Healdsburg, California location. In this leadership role, you'll orchestrate seamless banquet and private event execution, managing both team performance and guest experience at one of California wine country's premier hospitality destinations.

About the Role

As Banquet Captain, you'll oversee the coordination and delivery of private events and banquets, serving as the operational leader on every function. You'll supervise service staff, uphold Montage's exacting hospitality standards, and ensure every guest interaction reflects our commitment to excellence. This position demands strong leadership, meticulous attention to detail, and composure during fast-paced events that may occur during evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise banquet service staff before, during, and after events
• Coordinate room setup, table arrangements, and breakdown logistics for each function
• Maintain consistent service standards that align with Montage's hospitality values
• Engage directly with guests, anticipating needs and addressing requests professionally
• Collaborate with culinary and beverage teams to synchronize timing and execution
• Monitor service flow in real time, adjusting as needed to ensure smooth event progression
• Maintain service stations, equipment, and event spaces according to company standards

Requirements

• Proven supervisory or Banquet Captain experience in hospitality or fine dining
• Strong command of banquet service protocols and upscale hospitality practices
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and train service teams
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and manage event operations
• Availability for variable scheduling, including evenings and weekends as events require
• Professional demeanor and polished appearance befitting a luxury property
