Position Summary

As Merchandise Manager, you'll take ownership of the store's visual presentation and product strategy. Your role is to ensure compelling displays that capture customer attention, maintain accurate inventory levels, and implement company merchandising standards that drive both traffic and sales. Working full-time at our Yorktown Heights retail location, you'll collaborate closely with store leadership to execute seasonal campaigns and promotional activities that align with Michaels' brand vision.

Core Duties

• Design and execute eye-catching product displays and floor layouts that encourage customer engagement and boost category performance
• Oversee merchandise organization, placement, and rotation across departments to maximize visibility and accessibility
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the sales team to identify fast-moving and slow-moving items
• Lead merchandising team members, providing direction, training, and feedback on display standards and best practices
• Implement promotional signage and point-of-sale materials according to corporate guidelines and marketing calendars
• Analyze sales data and customer feedback to refine product assortments and display strategies
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the store's selling floor

Requirements

• Proven experience in retail merchandising, visual display, or store operations, preferably in a craft, hobby, or specialty retail environment
• Strong understanding of inventory management systems and retail best practices
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team toward common goals
• Excellent visual design sense and attention to detail in product presentation
• Proficiency with point-of-sale and inventory software systems
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and peak shopping seasons
