What This Role Involves

As an Area Field Manager with U-Haul in Lynchburg, Virginia, you'll manage operations and team performance across multiple locations in this full-time position. You'll ensure customers receive excellent service, maintain equipment standards, and support the growth of our rental business throughout the Lynchburg area and surrounding region.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations at assigned U-Haul locations and facilities across the Lynchburg territory
• Lead, train, and mentor team members to consistently deliver outstanding customer service
• Monitor equipment inventory, maintenance schedules, and vehicle availability
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures
• Address customer concerns and resolve issues to maintain satisfaction and retention
• Track performance metrics and contribute to revenue objectives for your field area
• Conduct facility and equipment inspections to uphold quality and safety standards
• Coordinate with corporate support to implement initiatives and operational improvements

Requirements

• Proven leadership and management experience in operations, customer service, or a related field
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Capacity to multitask and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Lynchburg, Virginia region
• Independent decision-making skills and problem-solving capability
• Physical capability to perform warehouse duties and equipment inspections
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience or college coursework preferred
