Senior Customer Success Manager – Federal

Chainguard is hiring a Senior Customer Success Manager - Federal for a full-time, remote role serving U.S.-based government and defense-sector customers. You'll be the primary strategic advisor and point of contact for Federal customers, guiding them from initial onboarding through production adoption and expansion.

Position Summary

As Senior Customer Success Manager - Federal at Chainguard, you'll own post-sales relationships with our strategic government customers. Working across onboarding, integration, and adoption, you'll partner with Solutions Architects, Support, Product, Engineering, and Sales to deliver measurable outcomes. You'll build relationships with technical and executive stakeholders, ensuring customers achieve their security and compliance goals using Chainguard's hardened open source software.

Core Duties

• Strategic Success Planning — Partner with customers and internal teams on objectives, metrics, and value realization, helping customers demonstrate ROI internally across large-scale Federal deployments.
• Cross-functional Advocacy — Represent customer needs to Sales, Product, Engineering, and leadership teams, driving internal alignment on customer requirements.
• Technical Support Coordination — Collaborate with Support and Customer Engineering to diagnose, prioritize, and resolve issues efficiently.
• Product Leadership — Master Chainguard's capabilities and stay current with supply chain security, DevSecOps, and compliance trends.
• Customer Education — Deliver product training, security fundamentals, and governance practices for Federal customers.
• Account Expansion & Retention — Build multi-stakeholder relationships and work with Sales to identify renewal, expansion, and risk mitigation opportunities.

What You Bring

• 5+ years in public sector customer-facing roles, including Customer Success, Professional Services, Technical Account Management, or combinations with Sales, Solutions Engineering, or Technical Support.
• Domain expertise in one or more: Supply Chain Security, DevSecOps, AppSec, security infrastructure, containers, regulatory compliance, vulnerability management, or software development lifecycle.
• Autonomous, ownership-driven mindset with independent decision-making on escalations and process innovation.
• Entrepreneurial orientation and comfort building new practices in a maturing team environment.
• Active commitment to skill-building, industry knowledge, and career development.
• Emotional intelligence, priority discipline, and driven work ethic.

Nice-to-have: Early-stage startup experience; cybersecurity passion; hands-on technical background in cloud platforms, Linux, containers, or security infrastructure.
