Behavioral Technician – Outpatient

Compasshealthnetwork is hiring a Behavioral Technician - Outpatient to join our addiction recovery team in Columbia - Berrywood Drive. This is a part-time position that offers meaningful work supporting individuals as they navigate recovery from substance use through our structured outpatient programs.

What This Role Involves

As a Behavioral Technician in our outpatient setting (also known as an Addiction Recovery Technician for Outpatient services), you'll work directly with clients enrolled in Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs. Your core function is to provide direct client support, facilitate therapeutic activities, and help participants build the foundational skills and stability they need for sustained recovery. You'll operate as a vital member of the clinical team, contributing to a structured treatment environment that emphasizes education, peer support, and practical life skills development.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to clients during PHP and IOP sessions, maintaining a therapeutic, non-judgmental presence
• Assist in facilitating educational activities, group sessions, and structured programming that reinforce recovery principles
• Help clients develop practical coping strategies and reinforce healthy behavioral patterns
• Monitor and document client progress and participation in program activities
• Collaborate with licensed clinicians and treatment team members to support individualized recovery goals
• Model recovery-supportive attitudes and contribute to a welcoming, affirming treatment environment

Requirements

• Genuine passion for supporting individuals in recovery from substance use
• Ability to work as an engaged team member in a clinical setting
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Reliable commitment to the scheduled hours: 2pm–8pm three days per week, and 2pm–7pm one day per week (three days off per week)
• Willingness to engage in continuous learning and professional development
