The Opportunity
PLANET S.A. is looking for a Junior Oracle Database Administrator to join our technical team in Marousi. In this full-time role, you'll support the day-to-day administration and optimization of our Oracle database infrastructure. This position offers direct exposure to enterprise database management, mentorship from experienced professionals, and the chance to build a strong foundation in database administration.
What You'll Do
- Monitor Oracle database performance and respond to alerts and incidents
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including backups, recovery, and user management
- Assist with database installations, upgrades, and patching
- Manage database storage, tablespace allocation, and capacity planning
- Execute SQL queries and scripts to support daily operations
- Collaborate with system administrators and application teams on database requirements
- Document procedures, configurations, and lessons learned
- Participate in on-call support rotation for production systems
What You Bring
- Solid understanding of Oracle Database architecture and fundamentals
- Working knowledge of SQL and basic PL/SQL
- Experience with Linux/Unix system administration or equivalent technical background
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and security
- Ability to work collaboratively in a technical team environment
- Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) certification or relevant hands-on experience valued
