Head of Cloud Architecture

Pinewood.AI is seeking a Head of Cloud Architecture to lead technical strategy and infrastructure development from our Solihull, England office. This is a full-time role for a senior technical leader to shape and oversee our cloud capabilities.

About the Role

As Head of Cloud Architecture, you will take ownership of Pinewood.AI's cloud infrastructure strategy and technical direction. You'll work across the organisation to design systems that are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives, whilst establishing best practices that underpin our technological excellence.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive cloud architecture strategy and technical roadmap
• Design cloud-native solutions that scale with organisational growth
• Lead technical teams in the implementation and maintenance of cloud infrastructure
• Establish security, compliance, and governance standards for cloud systems
• Optimise cloud infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
• Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and services to maintain competitive advantage
• Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, product, and operations
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the technical function

Skills & Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale cloud solutions
• Proficiency with major cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or equivalent)
• Demonstrated success leading technical teams and managing large infrastructure programmes
• Deep expertise in cloud architecture patterns, distributed systems, and microservices
• Strong background in security, compliance, and governance within cloud environments
• Experience with infrastructure as code, containerisation, and DevOps methodologies
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Relevant cloud certifications (such as AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect) are valued
