Senior SOC Analyst

Phoenix Software is seeking a Senior SOC Analyst to join its security operations team in the United Kingdom. This is a full-time remote position for an experienced security professional ready to lead threat detection and incident response efforts.

About the Role

As Senior SOC Analyst, you'll be responsible for monitoring security events, identifying threats, and orchestrating incident response across our environment. You'll work independently and as part of a security-focused team, drawing on deep expertise in security operations to protect critical infrastructure and data. This role offers the opportunity to influence our security strategy whilst maintaining operational excellence in threat detection and management.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse security alerts from multiple sources to identify genuine threats and anomalous activity
• Conduct thorough investigations into security incidents, establish root cause, and recommend remediation actions
• Document and report on security events, maintaining comprehensive incident records and metrics
• Maintain and optimise security monitoring tools, ensuring effective coverage and alert tuning
• Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to resolve security findings and implement controls
• Develop and refine detection rules and playbooks to improve response efficiency
• Provide security guidance and recommendations based on observed threats and industry trends

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience working in a Security Operations Centre or similar security monitoring role
• Strong understanding of network security, system administration, and common attack methodologies
• Proficiency with security information and event management (SIEM) platforms and log analysis
• Experience with incident response processes and threat investigation techniques
• Knowledge of security frameworks, threat intelligence, and compliance considerations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and respond effectively to emerging threats
