Managed Security Specialist

Phoenix Software is seeking a Managed Security Specialist to join our team and help protect our clients' critical infrastructure. This is a full-time, remote role based in the United Kingdom, offering the opportunity to work at the forefront of cybersecurity management and incident response.

What This Role Involves

As a Managed Security Specialist at Phoenix Software, you'll oversee the security posture of our clients' networks and systems, responding to threats in real-time and ensuring continuous protection against evolving cyber risks. You'll combine deep technical expertise with strategic thinking to manage security tools, coordinate incident response efforts, and help organisations maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Your Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems, network traffic, and system logs to detect and respond to potential threats
• Investigate security incidents, identify root causes, and implement remediation measures
• Manage and maintain security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection platforms
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend security improvements
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand security requirements and deliver tailored solutions
• Document security events, incidents, and actions taken for audit and compliance purposes

Requirements

• Proven experience in managed security, security operations, or a similar cybersecurity role
• Strong understanding of network security, system architecture, and security protocols
• Proficiency with security monitoring tools, SIEM platforms, and incident response methodologies
• Knowledge of industry security standards and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS, or similar)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Problem-solving ability and attention to detail
• Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CEH, GIAC, or equivalent) are advantageous
