About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential deep-tech organization in Munich that is building critical infrastructure for Europe's energy future. We are seeking a Senior Communications Specialist to lead global communications strategy and execution during a period of significant growth and milestone achievements.

This is an individual contributor role reporting into the Communications function. You will own media relations across Germany and international markets, shape executive positioning, and translate complex technical breakthroughs into compelling narratives for investors, policymakers, industry partners, and the public.

Responsibilities

Global Media Relations

  • Own day-to-day media engagement in Germany and internationally, serving as primary contact for all media enquiries
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with journalists across business, technology, science, and political media in key markets
  • Create high-impact media opportunities through proactive pitching, interviews, briefings, and site tours around major company milestones
  • Manage media responses with speed and sound judgement, ensuring accuracy and consistency

Corporate Communications and Thought Leadership

  • Develop interview briefings, opinion pieces, and executive messaging that position leadership as leading voices in the industry
  • Translate complex technical, commercial, and political topics into compelling narratives for diverse audiences
  • Monitor the political, policy, and industry landscape to identify strategic communications opportunities
  • Proactively identify story angles and campaign ideas that advance the conversation around the sector and European industrial innovation

Strategic Campaigns and External Engagements

  • Design and execute integrated campaigns with clear narratives, audiences, channels, timelines, and measurable outcomes
  • Lead public relations for international conferences, sponsorships, exhibitions, and executive speaking engagements
  • Manage external agencies and specialist partners to ensure consistently high delivery standards

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build trusted relationships across Engineering, Finance, Public Policy, and Business Operations
  • Work closely with colleagues across Communications and Brand & Content to deliver integrated programs
  • Support business objectives including fundraising and investor communications

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in corporate communications, media relations, public relations, or strategic communications
  • Background working across agencies and high-growth technology companies or startup-to-scale-up environments
  • Strong network of or credibility to quickly build trusted relationships with German and international journalists across business, technology, and science media
  • Proven track record leading integrated communications campaigns from strategy through execution, including managing agencies and external partners
  • Native or fluent German with exceptional writing and communication skills in both German and English
  • Strong understanding of how strategic communications can shape public debate, influence policy conversations, and support business objectives
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with initiative to identify opportunities, take ownership, and drive communications forward in a fast-moving environment
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple high-profile priorities simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in deep tech, energy, or another highly technical, highly regulated industry
  • Experience in political or policy communications
  • Experience supporting fundraising or investor communications
