Analytics Engineer (w/m/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential EdTech organization in Berlin seeking an Analytics Engineer to serve as the driving force behind their data platform. In this role, you will:

• Develop and maintain dbt models and data pipelines that transform raw data into clean, documented, and reliable datasets
• Establish a single source of truth for metrics, ensuring all teams work with consistent, trustworthy data
• Design scalable data warehouse schemas (dimensional models, facts/dimensions) with focus on performance, scalability, and cost optimization
• Integrate data from enterprise-wide systems into the data lake and data warehouse, coordinating cross-system data flows
• Build and maintain dashboards and reports (e.g., in Metabase) that enable business units to make independent, data-driven decisions
• Continuously secure and improve data quality through monitoring, dbt tests, and clear standards for reliable analytics and AI use cases
• Collaborate closely with operations, product, engineering, and leadership teams, translating business questions into meaningful metrics and analyses

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience as Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, Data Scientist, or comparable data-driven role
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with dbt in production environments (including tests, documentation, CI/CD, and GitHub workflows)
• Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehouse design, ETL/ELT processes, and their impact on scalability and reporting performance
• Practical experience with Snowflake (or comparable cloud data warehouse/data lake solutions) and a BI tool such as Metabase, Power BI, or Tableau
• Knowledge of Python or similar scripting/analysis tools for deeper analysis, prototyping, and automation
• Ability to explain complex data and relationships clearly; strong service and solution orientation when working with internal stakeholders
• Structured, independent working style with an ownership mentality
• Excellent German and English language skills, written and spoken
