About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential SaaS client in the short-term rental technology space. They are building an AI-powered operations platform that automates workflows for property management businesses, and they need a Senior Software Engineer to help architect and scale their core product.
This is a high-ownership role where you'll build customer-facing products, automation engines, AI-powered workflows, and operational systems from the ground up. You'll work directly with founders in a small, fast-moving team solving real operational challenges at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable applications, services, and APIs powering reservations, availability, pricing, payments, and property operations
- Build event-driven workflows that eliminate repetitive operational work across the rental lifecycle
- Develop AI-powered systems using LLMs and agents to automate communication, maintenance triage, pricing decisions, and portfolio management
- Create robust API-first architecture connecting internal services, booking channels, third-party providers, and customer systems
- Build and maintain integrations with major platforms including booking channels, payment processors, communication tools, and AI services
- Deploy and manage cloud-native infrastructure designed for reliability, performance, and global growth
- Solve complex problems including real-time synchronization, dynamic pricing intelligence, access management, automated guest communication, operational forecasting, and financial workflows
- Own projects end-to-end from understanding operator problems through architecture, implementation, deployment, and ongoing improvement
- Bring senior engineering judgment to technical decisions, code reviews, and system reliability
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Strong experience building and owning production-grade software systems
- Experience with FastAPI, Python, React, or similar frameworks
- Strong understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and cloud architecture
- Experience designing scalable backend systems and reliable data models
- Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions
- Strong problem-solving skills and product mindset
- Curiosity about AI, automation, and operational efficiency
- Bias toward action, shipping, and learning from real users
- Ability to balance delivery speed with maintainability and reliability
