Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential sustainability organization focused on maritime transportation. As a working student, you will support the development, implementation, and monitoring of climate-friendly shipping and port initiatives. Your responsibilities include:

• Supporting market analysis, potential assessments, and environmental evaluations of technology options and business models for sustainable maritime operations
• Assisting with implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of climate action programs and measures
• Supporting procurement processes, managing external assignments, and preparing documentation
• Contributing to technical advisory work on regulations and standards for alternative propulsion systems and fuels
• Assisting with the design and implementation of funding measures for climate-friendly shipping and ports
• Supporting stakeholder engagement with government agencies, industry, academia, and associations
• Helping prepare events, meetings, workshops, and communication materials

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks a working student enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in natural sciences, engineering (mechanical engineering, propulsion technology, naval architecture, transportation), business engineering, economics, political science, or related fields.

Required qualifications:

• Currently enrolled student with capacity to work 19.5 hours per week (flexible scheduling around your studies)
• Initial professional experience through internships in industry, service companies, public administration, or research institutions
• Strong team collaboration skills, reliability, and engagement
• Good English language proficiency
• Proficiency with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Commitment to sustainable mobility strategies

Preferred qualifications:

• Knowledge and experience related to maritime industry (shipping, shipbuilding, suppliers, port operations)
• Understanding of alternative propulsion systems and fuel infrastructures
• Familiarity with funding programs and stakeholder network management

Position Details

Location: Berlin Fasanenstrasse (up to 60% remote work possible)
Employment type: Working student position (Werkstudent), 12-month contract with possibility of extension
Hours: Ideally 19.5 hours per week, flexible scheduling to accommodate your studies
