Overview
We are representing a confidential social science research institute seeking one or two Student Research Assistants to support survey data augmentation initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for students enrolled in social sciences programs to gain hands-on experience in data curation, quantitative analysis, and democracy research while working with a team that develops methods for linking survey datasets with georeferenced information.
Location: Köln
Employment Type: Temporary, part-time (up to 19 hours per month)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Responsibilities
- Support the team's service and research activities in the Cologne office
- Conduct data collection and management tasks for survey research projects
- Perform analysis and visualization of quantitative research data
- Execute literature research to support ongoing projects
- Assist with preparation and coordination of methodology courses and research workshops
- Contribute to data linkage projects involving survey and georeferenced datasets
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled student in social sciences (political science, sociology, or similar field)
- Strong foundation in quantitative research methods
- Experience with R programming language is a plus
- Familiarity with Zotero bibliography management tool is beneficial
- Demonstrated interest in democracy research or social science methodology
- Good command of English; German language skills are advantageous
- Detail-oriented approach to data management and documentation
