About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential research organization in Köln that requires a student assistant to support their data services team. This is a part-time position (10 hours per week, fixed term) offering valuable hands-on experience in research data management and social science infrastructure.

Our client operates within the social sciences sector, providing sustainable infrastructure and services for data management, curation, and long-term archiving. Their mission centers on promoting FAIR data principles, open science, and reproducible research in quantitative and computational social sciences.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of a customer relationship management system
• Assist with service requests related to data archiving processes
• Conduct research for methodological studies on research data management, including data sharing and archiving practices
• Contribute to documentation and process optimization within the data acquisition and access team

What We're Looking For

• Excellent Bachelor's degree in a quantitatively oriented social science discipline
• Independent, proactive working style with strong team collaboration skills
• Experience with reference management software is desirable
• Experience in website maintenance is desirable
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
• Fluency in German is required for this position
