Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-funded construction technology company that is transforming how European contractors manage supplier data, invoicing, and project workflows. Our client has secured significant venture backing and is already deployed across major construction organizations. They need a Forward Deployed Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between their platform and customer operations.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering and customer success. You'll spend your time building integrations, implementing systems, and working directly on construction sites to ensure successful rollouts. Responsibilities

• Own proof-of-value implementations and scale them to full production rollouts across multiple construction sites
• Architect and build integrations between the platform and customer ERP systems, ensuring reliable data flow from day one
• Onboard supplier networks onto the digital platform, converting paper-based processes into structured data
• Conduct on-site team training and onboarding sessions directly at construction locations
• Manage multiple parallel technical projects from scoping through go-live, maintaining project plans and prioritization
• Debug customer issues in real-time and drive continuous improvement of deployment processes
• Serve as the technical face of the company during customer interactions

What We're Looking For

• 1-2 years hands-on experience in Solution Engineering, Implementation, Product Engineering, or Software Engineering
• Demonstrated ability to code and solve technical problems using APIs, scripts, React, TypeScript, or SQL
• Track record of owning at least one technical project end-to-end with direct customer involvement
• Comfort managing multiple concurrent projects without losing focus or quality
• Strong analytical mindset and structured problem-solving approach when facing new systems
• Natural communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Native German and fluent English language skills
• Willingness to work five days per week from the Munich office with occasional customer travel
• Preferred: Experience with Construction Tech, Supply Chain, or Logistics SaaS; early-stage startup experience building processes from scratch
