QA Engineer (f/m/d)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential adtech organization seeking a QA Engineer to join their dashboard and analytics platform team in Hamburg. This role focuses on ensuring quality across high-performance data systems that process tens of millions of daily events and serve real-time insights to partners worldwide.

You'll be testing sophisticated campaign management interfaces, analytics engines, and data visualization tools built with modern technologies including React, TypeScript, Go, and Kafka. This position offers the chance to work on systems operating at genuine scale with complex user journeys spanning frontend interfaces and backend data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute both structured and exploratory test cases across frontend and backend systems
• Validate complex user journeys and perform comprehensive regression testing before releases
• Identify edge cases and risk areas early in the development cycle
• Document clear, reproducible bug reports in Jira with appropriate context and severity
• Contribute to UI and API test automation using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Postman
• Identify critical regression flows worth automating and maintain existing test suites
• Test APIs and data-driven dashboard features with attention to data layer accuracy
• Perform backend data validation using SQL queries
• Participate in refinement and sprint planning sessions from a QA perspective
• Help define acceptance criteria and test strategies for new features
• Proactively flag quality risks before they impact releases

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of hands-on automation experience alongside a strong manual testing foundation
• Proven ability to design and execute comprehensive test cases for complex applications
• Experience with UI and API test automation tools (Playwright, Cypress, Postman, or similar)
• Basic SQL knowledge for backend data validation and verification
• Understanding of what correct data looks like at the data layer, not just the UI
• Ability to identify which regression flows are critical for automation
• Experience maintaining and improving existing test suites
• CI/CD integration experience is a strong plus
• Background in SaaS, AdTech, or performance marketing environments preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
• Located in or willing to relocate to Hamburg, Germany (relocation support available)
