We are representing a confidential renewable energy technology company that is building next-generation ERP systems with AI-native capabilities. This Engineering Manager role sits at the intersection of enterprise architecture and artificial intelligence, leading the transformation from traditional ERP to an intelligent, agent-operated platform.

Our client is based in Berlin and operates across multiple European markets. They're moving from a customized Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O environment to a clean-core architecture with an AI execution layer built on top. This isn't legacy system maintenance—this is greenfield platform engineering for an enterprise that runs on intelligent agents.

Responsibilities

You will lead the ERP engineering team responsible for both technical architecture and delivery execution:

• Define and execute the migration strategy from a heavily customized D365 F&O landscape to a clean-core, max-standard platform with agentic extensions
• Assess the current technical state: architecture, customization debt, integration patterns, performance bottlenecks, and data quality issues across the D365 environment
• Own the technical architecture for the AI-native execution layer, including agent harnesses, MCP/A2A integration standards, runtime pipelines, guardrails, and monitoring infrastructure
• Ensure D365 customizations are minimized to only legally required or business-critical use cases, with every extension decision evaluated against clean-core fit and platform alignment
• Oversee end-to-end D365 F&O development: technical design, code quality, documentation standards, and release governance
• Implement DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for predictable releases, including agentic build, test, and deployment cycles
• Design and scale integrations with the broader technology ecosystem: CRM systems, IoT platforms, Azure, cloud data warehouses, and Microsoft AI platform components
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of ERP developers and engineers across hiring, onboarding, and continuous development in a multi-entity operating environment
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence with an AI-native delivery mindset, clean-core discipline, and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, Senior ERP Architect, or Technical Lead with strong people leadership in modern engineering organizations
• In-depth expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O or Dynamics AX/AX2012, including customization, integration patterns, and architectural design
• Demonstrated experience conducting independent ERP technical assessments and translating findings into executable roadmaps
• Deep knowledge of D365 F&O architecture, LCS, Azure DevOps, and integration frameworks
• Hands-on software engineering background in C#, X++,.NET, Azure, or similar cloud-based technology stacks
• Experience with or strong interest in agentic AI engineering: MCP/A2A standards, agent harness design, LLM integration, or AI-native delivery models
• Strong understanding of core ERP process domains (Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement) and the ability to translate business complexity into clean technical solutions
• Track record building and leading teams that deliver scalable, stable systems in fast-growth environments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business audiences
• Fluent English required; German is a plus
