Senior Director, Strategic Projects

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential telecommunications technology organization seeking a Senior Director, Strategic Projects based in London. In this senior, highly autonomous role, you will serve as a trusted advisor and execution partner to executive leadership, driving complex, cross-functional initiatives from conception through measurable impact.

You will own end-to-end delivery of high-priority strategic projects, from scoping and hypothesis development through to synthesis, recommendations, and stakeholder alignment. Your work will span strategic problem-solving, executive advisory, market intelligence, go-to-market strategy, and business model innovation within a rapidly scaling technology portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

• Drive strategic projects end-to-end: define objectives, assemble cross-functional teams across product, engineering, business development, marketing, and legal functions, and manage delivery against plan
• Translate ambiguous, complex business challenges into clear, defensible recommendations with strong commercial logic
• Act as strategic advisor to senior leadership; prepare and present executive-level materials for internal and external audiences including partners, enterprise customers, and parent organization leadership
• Represent the organization's strategic initiatives in high-stakes engagements, including partner negotiations and industry forums
• Develop and maintain rigorous competitive intelligence and market analysis, translating insights into actionable implications for portfolio strategy and resource allocation
• Construct go-to-market strategies for emerging opportunities, including business model and commercial design across target verticals such as banking, financial services, mobility, and healthcare
• Build reusable frameworks, playbooks, and analytical models that scale impact beyond individual engagements
• Foster a culture of rigour, speed, and continuous improvement within the strategic projects function

What We're Looking For

Experience required:

• 10+ years of progressive experience with a strong foundation in top-tier strategy or management consulting (McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or equivalent), ideally at Senior Engagement Manager, Associate Partner, or Engagement Manager level
• Demonstrated track record leading complex, ambiguous strategic projects from problem framing to executive-ready recommendations
• Experience in or deep familiarity with the telecommunications, cloud, or enterprise technology ecosystem
• Prior in-house strategy experience at a technology company is advantageous

• Cross-functional leadership: proven ability to lead and align diverse teams without direct authority; calm under pressure and decisive in trade-offs
• Results orientation: relentless focus on business outcomes including revenue growth, market share, and strategic milestone delivery
