About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential SaaS client in Berlin that is transforming how e-commerce businesses handle returns. Our talent team is searching for a Forward Deployed Engineer to build technical integrations and solve complex customer challenges.
This role sits at the intersection of engineering and customer success. You'll own the technical relationship with clients, translating their needs into working integrations with shop systems, ERPs, warehouse tools, and third-party logistics platforms.
Responsibilities
- Understand, structure, and evaluate technical requirements from e-commerce clients
- Design and build integrations between our client's platform and external systems including shops, ERPs, 3PLs, and warehouse management tools
- Analyze APIs, webhooks, and technical documentation to implement clean data flows
- Guide customer requirements from initial technical assessment through to production deployment
- Assess feasibility, effort, and technical risks for sales and customer success teams
- Implement product customizations, automations, and customer-specific extensions independently
- Debug integration issues and develop robust solutions
- Identify recurring integration patterns and translate them into reusable components
What We're Looking For
- Technical background in software engineering, solutions engineering, implementation engineering, or comparable hands-on experience
- Strong understanding of APIs, data models, webhooks, authentication, logs, and technical documentation
- Builder mentality: you can structure open-ended technical problems and drive them to working solutions independently
- AI-native workflow using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, AI agents, or similar
- German at native or near-native level
- Ability to communicate clearly and calmly with customers about technical topics
- Pragmatic approach: you solve problems rather than escalate them
- Bonus: experience with Shopify or e-commerce platforms
- Bonus: experience with ERP, warehouse, 3PL, or order management systems
